About Me

Before becoming a therapist, I went through my own therapeutic journey and know how transformative the process can be. I grew up anxious, wanting to understand myself and my feelings, yet not knowing how to process them in order to feel better. Now, I utilize my years of experience both as a client myself and a clinician, to help others feel safe as they deepen their understanding of their own experiences. I worked in several schools and agencies as a social worker before transitioning to private practice, and now I currently work with individuals in multiple states and abroad as a coach, and throughout New York as a holistic licensed therapist. Through our work together,  my clients learn to empower themselves and gain perspective so that they can move forward with a sense of confidence and inner freedom,  all while learning skills to help them feel better during more difficult moments. I feel grateful everyday that I get to witness my clients transform into confident, unstoppable beings.

Treatment Approaches

I utilize a very holistic approach when working with people, always striving to meet you where you are first and support you with what you need in this moment. Through learning from our past, processing our pain, and deepening our perspective,  we can all heal and live the life of our dreams. Below are some approaches that I utilize to help us get there, and if you want to talk more about any of these or have questions, please reach out!

Cognitive-Behavioral
Play/Art Therapy
Person-Centered
Mindfulness
Psychodynamic
Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) Tapping
Cognitive-Behavioral

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) – Emphasizes how thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are connected. When we become aware of how our thinking affects how we feel and act, it becomes easier to shift our unwanted behaviors. This way, we have more choice in how we respond to life's challenges.

Play/Art Therapy

Play/Art Therapy – Uses play and the creative arts to help uncover and process emotions, especially in kids and young adults. Play is how children express themselves, and it provides insight when verbally communicating feelings is challenging.

Person-Centered

Person-Centered – Provides a calm, accepting space to speak freely without fear of judgment, in order to process experiences. My role is to listen, reflect, and offer insight.

Mindfulness

Mindfulness – When we aren't regretting the past or worrying about the future, happiness becomes easier. In sessions, I can offer techniques to quiet the spinning mind in order to feel more comfortable in stressful situations.

Psychodynamic

Psychodynamic – Focusing on the connection between our past beliefs and present behaviors increases self-awareness, so that we feel freer in the present and are able to move forward more confidently.

Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) Tapping

Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) Tapping – This is a holistic calming technique that I can teach during sessions for those interested. EFT helps relieve stress through self-tapping on specific acupressure points and can be very helpful for immediate relief from anxiety.
